We specialize in custom countertop fabrication and installation using pristine granite slabs, as well as providing full remodels including tiled backsplashes, granite tiles, custom kitchen, bathroom and vanity sinks, and a wide range of cabinets.
Because we’ve been here for so long, we don’t just know our work, we know our customers and we know Tucson. We have worked with styles that fit in with the locality for forty years, and during that time we have built fantastic working relationships with many well-known local businesses. It’s these relationships, both personal and professional, that we feel make our brand so special.

No job is too large or too small and by coming to us, you save yourself the hassle of working with 2 or more different companies at once. Our combined experience is rooted in quality, attention to detail, and knowledge – we’ve got four decades of history to prove it!
Granite Planet founder and General Contractor, Mike Walters, has been in the kitchen and bath business for over four decades. Following in his father-in-law’s footsteps, Mike opened a flooring company in 1979. In the mid-90s, Mike received his General Contractors license and even went on to build entire custom homes. After finding a need in the marketplace for a “One Stop Shop” remodeling company in 2002, the Walters family bought a building, a saw, some granite… and Granite Planet was born.
David Watts, Mike’s son-in-law, is Director of Operations at Granite Planet. Mike’s eldest daughter, Kelly, has been the Project Manager and Designer for 20+ years. Mike’s wife for over 45 years, Mickey still plays a major role in the family business by heading up the accounting division. And his youngest son, Cody, is the Director of Sales & Marketing.
And now, with six grandkids and counting, it’s a safe bet that the Walters family business is going to be here for a good long time. You’ll be hearing the name Granite Planet in Tucson for years to come – we guarantee you that!
